Hello! I’m Tamara Blackwell, Ms. Wheelchair America 2025 and Ms Wheelchair Kansas 2024. My journey is rooted in advocating for accessibility and inclusivity through my platform, ‘Am I Going to Fit?’ Navigating Accessibility Through Personal Experience. Together, we can create a world where everyone belongs.

The question, ‘Am I Going to Fit?’ has resonated deeply with me throughout my life. My experiences navigating a world filled with barriers—both physical and societal—drove me to "stand up" and advocate for change. Running for Ms. Wheelchair Kansas was a step towards creating a more inclusive future for everyone.

From meeting with state and local leaders to advocating for accessible spaces in our communities, my time as Ms. Wheelchair Kansas has been filled with opportunities to spark change. I’ve shared my story, inspired action, and connected with countless individuals to champion accessibility for all.

I am honored to be crowned Ms. Wheelchair America 2025! This title represents more than just a crown—it is a platform to amplify the voices of people with disabilities across the nation. Winning this title validates the importance of my mission to break barriers and create a truly inclusive society.

As Ms. Wheelchair America, I am expanding my efforts to work with lawmakers, community leaders, and organizations nationwide. My goal is to ensure accessibility is not just a policy but a practice in every aspect of life. From advocating for inclusive public spaces to empowering individuals with disabilities, this is a movement to build a world where no one has to ask, ‘Am I going to fit?’

This is a journey I couldn’t take alone, and I am thrilled to continue working with communities, allies, and changemakers to ensure accessibility for all.
